Ten Tips To Survive Motherhood
Becoming a new Mum can be a wonderful yet daunting experience, there are so many new things to learn that it can often be overwhelming.
The key to being a stress free mum is to relax and to try to get your baby into a routine as quickly as possible. A good routine is imperative for both mum and baby so that you can plan your day while your baby feels secure.
A routine will also enable you to set aside some time to relax while your baby sleeps. Relax you may shriek what’s that? Thats true as it is quite chaotic to begin with as there are so many tasks to do to ensure your baby has a great start but once you are in a routine you can structure your day to have at least half an hour chill out time.
It’s a minefield when you come to choose which items you must buy to help you care for your little baby, there are so many different items available its hard to choose just ten must haves. Below are the ten things that I couldn’t do without and were the most valuable to my baby and I in the early days!
1. Anti colic bottles are a dream they really do work and after having a baby with colic they were worth any kind of money for some sleep.
2. Your baby is used to being all snug in your womb so to replicate this feeling, make sure you swaddle your baby. There are many great baby swaddling blankets on the market today with easy instructions to follow on how to makie your baby snug.

4. You will need to buy therma bottle bags as they will keep food,jars etc at the same temperature safely for over 4 hours which is ideal if you go out and about a lot and want to continue to do so with minimal fuss.

6. Dont buy a big unpractical pushchair/pram even if it does look lovely, go instead for a small umbrella buggy as they are so much easier to use when travelling and to get around the shops!
7. A sleeping bag is needed to keep your baby safe at night and they come in various togs so you can help regulate the temperature of your newborn.
8. A microwaveable sterilisier is a must so quick and easy!
9. If baby is born in the summer/hot weather you need a UV tent to protect their delicate skin.

Finally, have a great time as a mum do what you think is best for your baby you will know. Don’t worry what other say or think be yourself and love youyr baby. Last thought – go to a mum and baby group, there will be mums there that you can swap ideas with or just chat and have a coffee with while your baby plays and explores with other children.
