For Comfort And Relaxation, Arrange Your Bedroom Furniture With These Tips
While living room furniture needs to be arranged for socializing, bedroom furniture needs to be arranged for relaxation and possibly comfort. Bedrooms are not arranged for socializing because when you enter your bedroom you are now not thinking about watching TV or chatting with your friends. On entering your bedroom the first thing that you’re thinking about is an end to a long, hard day, plus how nice it’s going to be to lay back on the bed and chill.
Before you can prepare your furniture you’re going to want to measure your bedroom. You will want to have exact measurements, you may also need to know what sort of space you have between the window and the floor and other odd places like that. Getting these measurements permits you to draw your bedroom to scale on paper, so you can plan what you need to do and ensure everything fits. The easiest way to make sure everything is going to fit is to make cutouts of all the furniture that you plan to include in your bedroom.
Out of all the furniture in your bedroom the bed is going to be the focal point, so you would like to place all the other furniture round the bed. When placing the bed you do not need to dam any exits or entrances to the bedroom, nor do you want to dam the walkways or the toilet. Leave sufficient space next to the bed for a minimum of one end table, 2 end tables look good with bigger beds because you can place one on each side.
When arranging the furniture you want to keep under consideration you need to leave adequate space round the room for a walkway. The average walkway is about eighteen inches wide, so work within that space when planning your bedroom.
Long walls are good for long, short dressers. If possible you need to place the dresser on the wall that’s at the foot of the bed. If space will not allow that the side wall is another choice. You want to avoid placing any kind of dresser at the head of the bed because it will fight with the headboard.
One thing that many people don’t think about when preparing a bedroom is paintings and lamps. Lamps fit perfectly on the end tables by the bed, or they can be put on taller dressers to supply the best possible light. You can hang paintings above any piece of bedroom furniture, but centering the painting above frequently looks the absolute best.
