Your quadriceps muscles are made up of several small fibers, and when one of them becomes partly torn you have what is known as a pulled quad. Stretching from your knee to your hip on the front of your thigh, there are 4 groups of muscles that make up your quadriceps.
It will be extremely difficult to extend your leg if you have a pulled quad, so you will not be able to do much until you get yourself taken care of. You can walk softly in many cases, but attempting to do more with your leg could result in major discomfort.
