9 Things Your Golf Expert Never Mentioned
Failed to get results with conventional wisdom? Try these hints for instant improvement.
1. Shank Fix
Place a head cover one 1/2 inches outside the toe of the club at address. Hit balls focusing mainly on missing the cover. Do not worry about striking the perfect shot, just miss the head cover. If you miss the cover you’ll not shank. You’re better off hitting way off of the toe?just do not shank. We could always fix the big mistake in the swing later but for quick relief, this drill is the better.
2. Have a look at the Front of the Ball in the Fairway Bunker
In a fairway bunker you don’t wish to hit the sand before the ball . By looking at the front of the ball you are buying yourself ?insurance? you won’t ever hit it fat. It guarantees clean contact and definitely will allow you to advance the ball down the fairway. Although you may have a slight miss-hit, you will not leave the ball in the bunker.
3. Target the Top of the Pin when Pitching to the Wind
You don’t wish to leave the ball short on a pitch shot that is into the wind. By looking at the top of the a flag you will continue being competitive and fly the ball all the way to the hole. This will give you a possibility to get the ball down and up instead of using a long putt from the front of the green.
4. Look High in the Sky to Hit the Ball High
It’s incredible how simple yet effective this little trick is. By looking high before you hit the ball it’s putting your position tilted back slightly. This enables the club to swing with a shallower angle and presents more loft on the ball. This may produce a high powerful shot which will carry forever.
5. Close your Eyes on Short Putts.
Sounds ridiculous, I do know, and it needs a little bit of trust but it’s awesome how much better your stroke is when you don’t know the best time to flinch:). By closing your eyes you aren’t quite confident when impact is, therefore, the outcome is a?hit? free stroke. Distance control isn’t as much of a factor on short putts, so you can just roll it in the hole with out worrying about your face angle, stroke path or distance, etc.
6. Look at the Hole on Lag Putts.
The research has revealed that the best way most people to lag putt is looking at the hole. If you are shooting basket you don’t look at the basket ball do you?? you look at the hoop. By looking at the hole your distance control increases and also your stroke frees up?try it!
7. To Drive it Farther To the Wind Tee the Ball a little bit Higher
Though it is counter intuitive, teeing the ball higher helps knock spin off of the ball. This will prevent the wind from killing your distance. Plenty of people tee it lower and hit down on it. This could cause the ball to fly lower but the spin that is imparted on the ball from those launch situations will kill the distance. You want no part of spin if you’re in windy situations. You can even try teeing the ball lower in a down wind scenario. This would put extra spin on the ball keeping the ball in mid-air forever and flying past your folks!
8. Hit it Soft Out of a Fried Egg
Often you hear that you’re required to square the club face and make a lot of speed in a buried lie out from the bunker. I really like the square club face part however I have discovered that the softer swing is often better. You must produce sufficient speed to get the ball outside the bunker and let the ball release and roll the rest of the way. If you take an aggressive swing the ball will land where it could under common situations and, because it doesn’t have spin on it, will roll way past the hole?not good!
9. The Ball will Go Left When it is Below Your Feet
Traditional golf perception says that the golf ball will draw if it is above your feet and fade when it is below your feet. If have found that the ball goes left in either circumstances. When the ball is below your feet you can’t drive your legs and the body as well as normal. This could cause the face tend to flip through impact pulling or drawing the ball to the left. Not a problem, as long as you permit it.
